Scenario

Pressing visuals often become a collection of sprint arrows. This example starts with the passing lanes, then shows how the first presser uses a cover shadow and how teammates support the trap.

Board setup

  • Place the ball carrier, two nearby passing options, and the first three pressing players.
  • Use a transparent shape or highlight to show the lane denied by the first cover shadow.
  • Keep the far-side support players visible so compactness is part of the explanation.

Teaching points

  • The first presser denies one option while pressuring the ball.
  • Supporting players close the next pass instead of chasing the same opponent.
  • The shape behind the press matters as much as the sprint toward the ball.

How to present it in TacticSlate

  1. 1. Start with the opponent passing options visible and unmarked.
  2. 2. Add the first presser angle and cover-shadow highlight.
  3. 3. Duplicate the frame and move the next two players to close the nearest options.
  4. 4. Finish with the compact support shape behind the immediate pressure.

Explanation notes

  • Use shaded lanes instead of long text if the board is for players.
  • Remove the cover-shadow highlight in the final frame if it hides player positions.

Review checklist

  • The denied lane is visible before the press starts.
  • Each pressing player has a different responsibility.
  • The support shape behind the press remains compact.
